    Elizabeth James, HAS, has worked in the hearing healthcare industry for six years. She holds a B.S. in Government and Sociology from West Virginia Wesleyan University and an M.A. in Public Health Administration degree from Everglades University. She is a member of the International Hearing Society and the Hearing Loss Association of America. She has the distinct honor of being awarded the coveted President's Award in 2022 as a top consultant, and the Foundation Award three years running for her work providing free hearing aids to financially challenged patients. When asked why she chose this field of work, she responded, " When I was a child my mom thought I had hearing loss because I had difficulty understanding speech when there was background noise. Testing revealed that I was auditory impaired. This lifelong disability gifted me with the unique understanding for those with hearing loss and my ability to help them." In addition to being a member of the Stuart Chamber of Commerce, Betsy is married to Brian, a US Marine veteran who is currently a Palm Beach County Sheriff Deputy and owner of two Hear Again America locations in Stuart and Port Saint Lucie.

    Sherrie Alpert

    Sherrie Alpert earned her Master of Science degree in Speech and Hearing Science from The Pennsylvania State University, State College, Pennsylvania in 1980. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Queens College of the City University System of New York in June of 1979. Ms. Alpert completed her graduate school externship at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York, and received her Certificate of Clinical Competence in July of 1982. After completing her Clinical Fellowship Year at the Lexington School for the Deaf in Jackson Heights, Queens, she continued to pursue her audiology career working for Perry A. Foote, ENT physician in Gainesville, Florida. Ms. Domb is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and a long-standing member of the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association. Ms. Alpert's career as a compassionate and skilled clinical audiologist, centered around the fitting and servicing of hearing aids as co-owner of a private hearing aid dispensing practice for 22 years, and 13 years as a provider of hearing aid services in the same location in Boynton Beach, Florida. During this time, she also tested and fit hearing aids to the underprivileged in Palm Beach County, and was instrumental in raising funds for the Hearing Foundation located in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Their primary mission was to provide hearing aids and hearing health services around the world, to those who could not afford it. Ms. Alpert traveled to Mexico on one of these missions to offer hearing help to the impoverished hearing impaired in the various communities in the region. Her areas of expertise include:

    • Performance of comprehensive hearing evaluations including tympanometry and and videotoscopy
    • Counseling of patients regarding options to maximize tl1eir personal hearing and communication ability.
    • Advising of patients as to the best hearing devices to meet their hearing requirement and lifestyle.
    • Fitting of new hearing aids including strategies for successful usage, optimization of hearing health, and advanced programming for even the most challenging hearing impairments.
    • Guidance of patient and family members on an aural rehabilitation track to achieve the best hearing possible.
    • Providing service to hearing aids that include repairs, maintenance, adjustments, and programming.
    • Adjustment and modification of earmolds and hearing aids to improve acoustic and physical comfort.
    • Tinnitus management via the use of premium hearing aid technology.
